Meet Aspa

I know that building a family far from your original “village” comes with a unique set of pressures. With an MA in Education and 15 years in child development, I help parents move past the noise of conflicting advice to find a strategy that actually fits their daily reality. My work is rooted in both deep science and hands-on experience: I’m a certified Breastfeeding Educator (IPHI), co-founder of apothilazo.gr (the largest platform for weaning and sleep in Greece), and a peer supporter who has walked alongside thousands of mothers over the last 7 years. Most importantly, I’ve breastfed all three of my own children. I’m not here to give you a rigid script; I’m here to provide the expert perspective you need to lead your family with confidence and heart.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Find answers to the most common questions about.

How is this different from the support I get from my Kraamzorg or the Consultatiebureau?

While the Dutch system provides excellent basic care, it is often focused on clinical benchmarks (weight and supply). My role as a Developmental Specialist is to look at the “whole-family” picture. We move beyond the standard protocols to build a strategy that respects your child’s unique temperament, your specific return-to-work timeline, and your personal parenting values—not just a checklist.

Does Dutch health insurance cover these sessions?

No. Dutch health insurance typically covers clinical, medical-based consultations with an IBCLC. My services as a Breastfeeding Educator (IPHI) are private educational consults.

I have to return to work at 3 months. Can you help me manage this?

This is the most common concern for mothers in the Netherlands. We will create a “Return-to-Work” roadmap that balances your nursing goals with the reality of pumping and daycare transitions, ensuring you feel prepared when your leave ends.

Do we meet online or in-person?

Standard sessions are held via Zoom. However, I offer in-person consultations for families in the Het Gooi region. If you are located in or around Hilversum, Laren, Blaricum, or Bussum and prefer an in-home visit, please contact me to discuss travel arrangements, availability, and custom pricing. Please keep in mind that travel is charged at €0.50 per km (round trip) from Oud-Loosdrecht.
